anchors aweigh

Jcrew Tshirt, Madwell belt, Current Elliott high waisted denim, San Diego Hat Co. wool cap, Birkenstock sandals

This is probably one of the quirkiest shirts I own and I love it. I can't wait for Fall and Winter so I can get super creative layering and incorporating it into a cold-weather wardrobe. This past weekend was relaxing, yet fun. It was mainly spent with good friends, plenty of food, and a little bit of adventure. Hope your weekend was just as great, have a good week!

that summer

I have a thing for pieces that are unexpected (just like these pants) and this skirt is definitely one of them. It's so sporty looking that you'd immediately think it was made from cotton, but it's actually made out of silk. It easily scores some extra points in the versatility category. I can dress it up or down depending on my mood. Wear it casually with flats to a summer picnic, or throw on some heels for date night.

easy breezy dress

I'm not one to wear dresses or skirts on the daily, but for whatever reason I've been wearing them more often and it's perfect timing since the weather has been extremely warm. Not only is this dress super light and airy, it also fits like a glove and is an easy item to throw on and effortlessly look polished. To make it a bit more casual since it's silk, I decided to throw on a loose chambray which also aided in a light cover-up for evening making it the perfect warm weather outfit.

simple details

Madewell silk top, James Jeans denim, Target wedges, Men's Kenneth Cole watch, David Yurman ring

I'm a big fan of clothing items that are modern, minimalist, have a great or unique fit, and differentiate themselves through small details. This top is one of those items. It's got a great boatneck neckline and a surprise v-neck in the back which makes it very hard to not love. I hardly wear heels of any sort on days where it's not required (which are most of my days), but this day I was just feeling it. These wedges are the most comfortable pair I've ever owned, which made it an easy decision to wear them walking around downtown Petaluma a couple weeks ago (post for that coming soon!).

biking golden gate park

Golden Gate Park is not just one of the prettiest parks in San Francisco, it's also home to the Conservatory of Flowers, the De Young Museum, and the California Academy of Sciences, to name a few. Aside from these awesome establishments it's also host to a fun Sunday tradition when part of the park is closed to all traffic. On this day roller-skaters come out and skate to music and Lindy in the Park happens with free swing dance lessons. It's definitely a super fun time and this past weekend we decided to take advantage of the weather and the fact it was Sunday, and bike from the beginning of the park all the way to Ocean Beach, stopping to see the activities along the way.

It was also St. Patrick's day so I decided to break out this silk tee from Madewell in a sort of putrid mustardy green, which I love. I recently dug up this old denim jacket from my early college days and decided to break it out. There's been many a time I thought about donating it, but for whatever reason I've kept it each time, and I'm so glad I did because I'm seeing them everywhere lately. I'll for sure be making good use of it this spring and summer. Talk about investment, I've had this thing for nearly ten years and still love it!

denim all day

The thought of denim on denim used to make me cringe as it reminded me of 80's fashion back in the day, but now I think it's a matter of finding the right wash to pair together in order to avoid any cringing. This top in particular is so easy and pretty much goes with anything. My favorite thing is that it has characteristics of a button-down chambray, but the zipper front gives it that slight edge and makes it anything but typical.
